The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for supplier coordination and providing external procurement support, including handling the administrative and documentation aspects of the procurement process.
This role ensures the accurate preparation of purchase requests and purchase orders, maintains supplier and procurement records, manages supplier communications, canvasses quotations, follows up on deliveries, and coordinates with Finance, Warehouse, and Logistics to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required for procurement documentation and record management.
The Purchasing Assistant reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and ensures compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
