About the role
LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. is seeking an experienced Purchasing Associate to join our team in Quezon City Metro Manila. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for procuring materials, negotiating contracts, and maintaining efficient inventory levels to support our steel manufacturing operations.
What you'll be doing- Identify and source the most competitive suppliers for raw materials, equipment, and other goods required for production
- Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value for the company
- Manage the purchase order process, including creating, tracking, and expediting orders
- Monitor inventory levels and work with production teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials
- Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities and prepare reports for management
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their needs and find the most cost-effective solutions
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing industry
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills to secure favourable deals with suppliers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in using ERP systems and other procurement software to manage the purchasing process
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
