The Warehouseman / Stock Controller is responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, organization, and dispatch of company inventory. This role bridges physical warehouse labor with accurate data management, ensuring that system inventory counts align perfectly with physical stock while maintaining a safe, organized, and secure warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities- Inventory & Stock Control
System Accuracy: Track, log, and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing stock using the company’s inventory management system or logbooks.
Stock Auditing: Conduct regular physical inventory counts (cycle counts and monthly/quarterly spot checks) and reconcile discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
Discrepancy Reporting: Immediately report any damaged, missing, expired, or slow-moving stock to management.Documentation: Prepare, update, and file inventory documents such as Delivery Receipts (DR), Receiving Reports (RR), and Stock Transfer Notes.
- Receiving & Dispatching Operations
Inbound Logistics: Inspect incoming shipments for correct quantities, quality, and specifications against purchase orders and delivery receipts.
Outbound Logistics: Pick, pack, and prepare items for dispatch according to approved delivery schedules, sales orders, or internal requisitions.Loading/Unloading: Assist in safely loading and unloading goods from delivery trucks or container vans.
- Warehouse Maintenance & Organization
Space Optimization: Arrange and store inventory systematically based on product categories, shelf-life, or FIFO (First-In, First-Out) / FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) practices.
Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse space. Adhere to strict workplace safety standards and proper lifting techniques.
Security: Ensure the warehouse remains secure at all times, limiting access to unauthorized personnel to prevent pilferage.
Qualifications/Requirements
Job Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or holder of a Bachelor's degree / Associate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or any related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of proven experience as a Warehouseman, Stock Controller, Inventory Clerk, or a similar role.
Technical Skills:
Basic to intermediate computer literacy (proficiency in MS Excel or experience with Inventory/ERP software is highly preferred).
Familiarity with standard warehouse documentation and inventory control processes (FIFO/FEFO).
Physical Demands: Must be physically fit and capable of lifting, moving, and carrying heavy items or packages as required by standard operations.
