We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to maintain, upgrade, and manage our software, hardware, telephone and networks.
Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.
Position Objective
The MES Support Specialist will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and its integration with enterprise and shop-floor systems. This position requires a blend of technical support, software development, and manufacturing process knowledge to ensure the MES platform operates efficiently and evolves with business needs.
Position Key Functions- Provide day-to-day support for MES applications, ensuring system availability, performance, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Monitor MES system health, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve potential problems.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions in accordance with IT security policies.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy custom MES applications, modules, and reports based on business requirements.
- Enhance existing MES functionalities to improve usability, performance, and integration.
- Develop interfaces and APIs for MES to communicate with ERP, SCADA, PLCs, and other systems.
- Maintain source code repositories, version control, and documentation for all custom developments.
- Participate in MES-related projects including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define scope, and deliver solutions.
- Support validation and testing activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ documentation if applicable.
- Ensure all changes follow change control procedures and are properly documented.
- Develop and maintain real-time dashboards, KPIs, and production reports using tools like Power BI, SSRS, or Crystal Reports.
- Ensure data integrity and traceability across MES and integrated systems.
- Support data analytics initiatives to drive continuous improvement and operational insights.
- Provide training and support to end-users, production supervisors, and engineers.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and SOPs for MES applications and processes.
- Actively participate in Lear operations activities. Ensures that all individual and team deliverables are performed, and goals are attained.
- Oversee Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes in all interfacing systems.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to facilitate data imports and streamline database management tasks.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Compliance to Lear ISMS and SOX requirements is a must. Directly responsible for the implementation of the company’s security policies and procedures in his area of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MES support and/or application development.
- Experience in software development using C#, Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, automation systems, and shop-floor operations.
- Must be good in oral and written communications; Must be very good in interpersonal skills; Must be a team player.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing system improvement opportunities
- Ability to analyze systems and; solve complex problems, schedule, test, install, and implement programs/applications; write and revise standards and procedures; work in a team environment; and handle multiple projects. Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems and of the techniques used in the design of computerized systems. Experience with database design and development.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and MySQL for database management and query optimization.
