Job Summary:
The Safety Officer II is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and enforcing company-wide safety policies and procedures. This critical role will provide leadership in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, conducting workplace risk assessments, and promoting employee awareness of safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs to minimize workplace accidents and injuries
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards
- Investigate workplace incidents and prepare detailed reports with recommendations
- Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Provide training and guidance on safety protocols to employees and supervisors
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, accidents, and Near Miss Reports
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure compliance with local safety regulations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is desired
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably with a BPO or manufacturing organization
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSH guidelines)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification highly preferred
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSH/BOSH, COSH) are an advantage
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle emergency situations effectively
