Position Summary:

The finance officer will oversee the cooperative’s financial operations, ensuring sound financial planning, accurate reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficient resource management. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager and business unit heads to ensure financial sustainability and transparency across the shipping, merchandise, refilling and main office operation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage budgets across all business units
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper bookkeeping
  • Monitor cash flow, revenues, and expenditures
  • Generate and analyze financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure tax, regulatory, and audit compliance (e.g., BIR, CDA)
  • Implement internal financial controls and safeguard cooperative assets
  • Supervise payroll, government remittances, and employee benefit disbursement
  • Support inventory, asset and cost management for merchandise, shipping and refilling operations
  • Coordinate with department heads on financial planning and reporting
  • Present financial updates to the board of directors and general assembly as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance or relevant field.
  2. CPA license is an advantage;
  3. At least a minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial management, preferably in cooperatives or similar industries;
  4. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., CoopMIS)
  5. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills;
  6. Integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality are essential
  7. Must not be directly or indirectly connected in any business similar to that handled by the cooperative;
  8. Must not or have not been convicted of any administrative or criminal case involving moral turpitude, gross negligence or grave misconduct on the performance of his duties;
  9. Must not be facing any administrative or civil/criminal suits involving financial and/or property accountabilities; and
  10. Must be willing to undergo pre-service and/or in-service trainings.
