The Bellman /Security Staff is an essential member of our hotel team, entrusted with the dual responsibility of delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and security throughout the property. This role requires a professional with excellent hospitality skills, a vigilant mindset, and the ability to handle security concerns proactively.
The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for guests and act as a guardian of the hotel environment, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient experience for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm, courteous welcome to arriving guests, assist with luggage handling, and assist guests to their rooms.
- Collaborate closely with the front desk and other departments to facilitate smooth check-in/check-out (including guest luggage storage) and respond promptly to guest requests or concerns.
- Conduct regular, comprehensive security patrols of the hotel premises to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
- Perform frisking of employees and their belongings upon entry and exit, ensuring compliance with loss prevention protocols.
- Enforce hotel policies related to guest conduct, access control, and emergency preparedness to ensure compliance and maintain a safe atmosphere.
- Respond effectively during emergency situations, including coordinating evacuations, administering first aid if necessary, and liaising with emergency services.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of all security incidents, daily activities, and any noteworthy occurrences.
- Assist guests with additional services or unexpected issues, demonstrating sound judgment and professionalism.
- Work in close partnership with housekeeping, maintenance, and front office teams to uphold operational standards and enhance guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in hospitality, security, or related disciplines are preferred.
- Prior experience in hotel guest services and/or security is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, guest-oriented demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm, observant, and decisive in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Knowledge of safety and security protocols; certification in first aid and CPR is an asset.
- Physical capability to manage luggage, stand for extended periods, and perform patrol duties effectively.
- Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and proactive commitment to maintaining a secure environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
