About the role
Seeking a skilled Engineering Support (Technical Report Writer and/or Coordinator) to join our dynamic team. As a full-time Engineering Support, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical reports that communicate complex engineering information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll be doing- Work with inspector/engineer to write comprehensive API 653/510/570 inspection reports.
- Perform calculations on excel based captured field data. Template calculations include: venting, seismic, stress, corrosion rates, survey data, etc.
- Review or fill out inspection checklists
- Organize and process field photos and identify significant issues from photos.
- Generate 2D CAD drawings from field measurements.
- Work with engineer/inspector to review and edit reports for final submittal.
- Use existing codes standards (API, ASME, etc) as it relates to tanks, pipes, and pressure vessels to analyze and interpret engineering data and findings.
- Data entry and data management for organized and streamlined report writing.
- Collaborating engineer, inspectors, and field technicians to ensure reports are accurate and comprehensive.
- Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, or Industrial Engineering or a related scientific or technical field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand language
- Has background in designing (eg. 3D designs)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work with minimal errors
- Experience in technical report writing, with a portfolio of past projects (prefer candidates who share or bring sample documents during interview)
- Proficient in using relevant software tools for data analysis, document formatting and presentation. Microsoft Office (excel, word) and AutoCAD are the key software to have high level of proficiency in.
- Prefer certifications in ASNT NDE, API 653, API 570, API 510, STI SP001, NACE, AWS, or other relevant inspection and engineering certifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Resourcefulness and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
