The Role

The Engineering Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the development, execution, and delivery of high-quality applications across web, mobile, and cloud environments. This role focuses on building and nurturing a high-performing team, driving technical excellence, ensuring project success, and fostering continuous improvement.

The Engineering Manager will lead efforts to aggressively enhance the team's technical capabilities, manage competency metrics, and act as a dedicated mentor to ensure continuous learning and the delivery of innovative solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

Team Leadership, Mentoring, and Capability Building
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team of engineers specializing in web, mobile, and cloud technologies.
  • Act as a dedicated mentor and coach, actively guiding engineers through their career progression, technical upskilling, and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify training needs and develop personalized development plans for team members.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
Competency and Training Focus
  • Maintain and enhance the team's expertise across modern web (e.g., React, Node.js), mobile (e.g., iOS/Android, React Native, Flutter), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Identify and implement training programs to address skill gaps and promote continuous learning.
  • Design and facilitate internal workshops, tech talks, and peer-programming sessions to build foundational and advanced engineering capabilities.
  • Encourage the team to explore and adopt new technologies and methodologies.
  • Track and report on training completion and skill development progress.
  • Maintain a competency matrix and ensure resource allocation aligns with skill levels and project needs.
Technical Strategy and Execution
  • Define and implement technical strategies for multi-platform development, aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the architecture, design, and development of integrated web, mobile, and cloud applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team, resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Project and Service Delivery
  • Manage the execution of cross-platform software projects, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for project delivery issues, proactively addressing and resolving roadblocks.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks.
Process Improvement and Innovation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the software development lifecycle across all domains.
  • Implement and enforce coding standards, code review processes, and testing strategies.
  • Encourage innovation and experimentation, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve development workflows.
Governance and Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, best practices, and security requirements.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and audits to ensure compliance with quality and security standards.
  • Address non-compliance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure that all applications meet accessibility and performance standards across web browsers, mobile devices, and cloud infrastructures.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary software development teams.
  • Deep passion for and demonstrated success in capability building, mentoring, and executing training programs for engineering staff.
  • Strong technical background in modern web frameworks, mobile app development principles, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Hands-on experience managing products deployed on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and utilizing containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful software applications in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and practices spanning web, mobile, and cloud environments.
