Senior Java Software Engineer (Coding, Support, and Enhancement)
About the role
Join our dynamic team of software engineers at SPi Global (now Straive) as a Senior Java Software Engineer. In this full-time, office-based role in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila, you will be responsible for developing, supporting, and enhancing complex Java-based applications that are central to our business operations.
What you'll be doing- Design, develop, and implement high-quality Java software solutions to meet business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and analyse requirements, propose innovative solutions, and deliver robust and scalable applications
- Provide technical support and maintenance for existing Java applications, including debugging, troubleshooting, and implementing enhancements
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices to continuously improve our codebase and development processes
- Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your expertise and helping to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement
- 10-12 years of experience in Java software development, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
- Proficient in Java 8 or higher, as well as related technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, and Maven
- Hands-on experience in software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- A passionate and proactive approach to staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
