Training Superintendent (Deck)- Maritime Industry

Ensure compliance with all training manual requirements and company standards.
  • Review, develop, and deliver maritime training programs aligned with regulatory, client, and company requirements.
  • Identify training needs proactively and implement cost-effective learning solutions.
  • Manage training activities within approved budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of training programs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and participant satisfaction, implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Monitor industry developments and recommend solutions to emerging maritime challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Management System.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, training providers, and external partners.
  • Escalate training planning issues and operational concerns to management when required.
  • Support additional training and development initiatives as directed by senior leadership.

Essential Qualifications
  • Class I Deck Certificate of Competency (CoC) holder.
  • Master Mariner Certificate of Competency.
  • Training of Trainers & Assessors (TOTA) and/or Vertical Integration Course for Trainers (VICT) certification.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maritime training or a similar role.
  • Previous seagoing experience as a Master Mariner.
  • Experience delivering training to seafarers.
  • Budget management experience.
  • People leadership and team management experience.
