Job Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and preparing financial reports. In a construction setting, the role also includes monitoring project costs, billing, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements in the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the accounting department including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Review and monitor project costing, job order expenses, and budget variances.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate billing to clients and monitoring of collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Ensure compliance with BIR regulations and prepare tax returns (e.g., VAT, EWT, income tax).
• Coordinate with external auditors, government agencies, and other departments as necessary.
• Monitor the implementation of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Assist in cash flow management and forecasting.
• Support the preparation of reports for management decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field.
• CPA license is an advantage but not required.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong understanding of Philippine tax laws and BIR regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
