The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy construction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. The role covers preventive maintenance and breakdown repair of machinery used in construction, mining, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and dump trucks.
Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication, and system checks.Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system failures.
Repair or replace defective parts and components.
Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure equipment is roadworthy and operational.
Maintain service records, repair logs, and maintenance reports.
Respond to breakdowns in the field or job site when needed.
Coordinate with operators and supervisors regarding equipment condition and downtime.
Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and workshop safety procedures.
Recommend replacement or upgrade of worn-out machinery parts.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:At least High School Graduate or Vocational course in Automotive, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Servicing (TESDA NC II preferred).
Experience in repairing and maintaining heavy machinery (preferred).
Knowledge of hydraulic, diesel engine, and electrical systems.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and mechanical equipment.
Physically fit and willing to work in field or construction site conditions.
Strong troubleshooting and technical skills.
