Shipyard Superintendent
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a closely
related technical field.
Professional Experience: Extensive hands-on experience in shipbuilding, drydocking, and vessel
repairs. Responsible for managing daily operations in the shipyard, ensuring that all
ship construction, repair and maintenance projects are completed safely, on
time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Proven background in managing shipyard teams, overseeing construction, maintenance, and repair activities.
Project Management, Operations oversight, Personnel Management, Safetyand Compliance, Quality Control and Client and Stakeholder coordination.
Technical Competencies: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and
structural plans. Strong command of Tarifa (rate tables), BOQ (Bill of Quantities), MOQ
(Minimum Order Quantity), and all ship-related cost estimations and
computations.
Understanding of material specifications, production timelines, and budgetcontrol.
Familiarity with project management software and shipyard documentation.
Leadership & Management: Strong leadership, delegation, and problem-solving skills with experience in
supervising large, multi-disciplinary teams.
Effective project management skills include scheduling, budgeting, resourceplanning, and reporting.
