Job Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the resort/hospitality property, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and financial planning. The role supports management in making informed business decisions to maximize profitability and operational efficiency while maintaining strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Finance and Accounting Department.
- Supervise all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Cash Receipts, Payroll, Treasury, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret financial data, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Lead the budgeting process, cash flow forecasting, financial planning, and expenditure monitoring.
- Conduct revenue and expense variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Manage cash management activities, including treasury functions, fund disbursements, and cash flow monitoring.
- Oversee capital asset management, fixed asset accounting, and related reconciliations.
- Coordinate and facilitate annual external audits, tax compliance requirements, and government regulatory reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory obligations, taxes, permits, and financial reports.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls, operational efficiency, and reporting accuracy.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions and operational initiatives.
- Assign, monitor, and review the work of accounting staff to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely completion of deliverables.
- Maintain complete and organized financial records and documentation of all transactions.
- Coordinate closely with the Corporate Accounting Team and Accounting Manager based in the Makati Office.
- Support management in evaluating business opportunities, investment decisions, and profitability initiatives across hospitality operations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Management from time to time.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the hospitality, hotel, resort, or tourism industry is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, taxation, and internal controls.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to be assigned in San Juan, Batangas (stay-in or stay-out arrangement).
