The Clown & Magician Host is an entertainer responsible for hosting and performing at children's parties and family events by combining comedy, magic tricks, interactive games, and audience engagement. This role requires strong performance skills, humor, and the ability to interact positively with children and families while ensuring a lively and memorable experience.The entertainer must also be capable of managing the event program, maintaining a fun atmosphere, and working with event coordinators, sound technicians, or assistants.
Qualifications/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform live magic tricks, comedy skits, balloon twisting, and other party activities.
- Host and manage the entire event program, including games, contests, and announcements.
- Keep the audience, especially children, engaged and entertained throughout the event.
- Customize the performance according to the age group, theme, and special requests of the client.
- Coordinate with event organizers to ensure smooth event flow and proper timing.
- Maintain audience control, especially during large or active gatherings.
- Prepare props, costumes, and materials before each show and ensure everything is in working order.
- Encourage audience participation, while ensuring the safety and comfort of all guests.
- Remain professional and cheerful throughout the event, regardless of external conditions.
- Clean up and secure props and materials after each performance.
Qualifications:
- No formal education required; background in Performing Arts, Theater, or Communication is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in children's entertainment, clowning, magic, or event hosting.
Requirements:
- Outgoing, humorous, and energetic personality with a natural rapport with children.
- Ability to perform basic magic tricks, clown routines, and party games.
- Physically fit and able to perform for extended periods, including standing, dancing, and moving around.
- Willingness to wear costumes, makeup, and props (e.g., clown suits, wigs, hats, face paint).
- Good communication and improvisation skills.
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and engaging, even in unpredictable or noisy environments.
- Punctual, reliable, and committed to delivering a positive experience.
- Willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, depending on the event schedule.
- Access to own props, costume, sound system, or assistant (depending on client arrangements).
- Training or exposure to basic magic, balloon twisting, puppetry, or comedy is highly desirable.
