REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING (RAC) TECHNICIAN

Job Description:

• Process and complete assigned work orders efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate with clients to assess equipment needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Install, test, and maintain air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, ventilation systems, and related equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning components and conducting safety inspections.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC and refrigeration systems and carry out necessary repairs.
• Replace defective components such as motors, seals, compressors, and other worn parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and compliance schematics to ensure proper installation and servicing.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering of tools, parts, and supplies required for repairs and installations.
• Ensure newly installed systems operate efficiently through testing and performance checks.
• Provide clients with clear information regarding repair costs, maintenance requirements, and alternative cooling solutions.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable building regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or vocational training in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or a related field.
• TESDA NC II Certification in RAC Servicing (preferred or required).
• Proven experience as an RAC or HVAC technician or in a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Skills in brazing and soldering components.
• Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Physically fit and capable of handling heavy equipment.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces.
