About the Role

We are looking for a Vendor Management Specialist to handle our relationships with suppliers and partners. In this role, you will be the main person looking for new suppliers, checking their background, tracking vendors performance, and keeping their information updated in the system.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Finding & Testing New Suppliers
  • Market Research: Search for reliable suppliers with the best prices, quality, and delivery times.
  • Source Innovation: Find new products or tech that can save the company money or speed up work.
  • Run Trials: Test new products on a small scale before buying them in bulk.
  1. Screening & Onboarding
  • Background Checks: Lead the supplier screening (accreditation) to ensure they meet company and legal standards.
  • Roster Management: Keep an organized, updated master list of all approved suppliers.
  1. Data & System Management
  • Data Accuracy: Encode and update supplier info in our system, ensuring zero mistakes or duplicate entries.
  • System Controls: Process requests to create, edit, or block/unblock supplier profiles.
  • Data Reviews: Check data requests and advise the Supply Chain Head on approvals or rejections.
  1. Performance & Relationships
  • Track Performance: Use a simple grading system to evaluate supplier quality and timeliness.
  • Feedback Meetings: Meet with suppliers regularly to review their scores and resolve issues.
  • Enforce Penalties: Lead the process to suspend or blacklist suppliers who repeatedly fail to perform.
  1. Compliance & Risk Mitigation
  • Policy Control: Ensure all supplier transactions follow local laws and company rules.
  • Backup Plans: Monitor risks like delivery delays or shortages and prepare backup options.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Education: College graduate (Open to Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, IT, or any related course).
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or handling supplier data.
  • Skills:
  • Good at using computers and data systems
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Very detailed-oriented—someone who catches typos and mistakes easily.
