Business Development Manager is responsible for the Identification of new business opportunities aligned to the current as well as new services of the company in key trade lanes such as to/from Philippine origin ports to Intra-Asia, Subcon, Oceania, Middle East, Africa and Latin America, the successful candidate shall be responsible for leading the team in achieving and exceeding Sales target.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Builds and manages a robust sales pipeline and aligns the team to its attainment; establishes and maintains long term customer relationships.
  • Holds regular Sales, Trade, Cross functional meeting with team with the objective of achieving and exceeding Sales Target.
  • Identifies and secures new business opportunities and strategic partnerships, targeting Small and Medium and Large sized companies
  • Regularly reviews customer portfolios together with Sales Team, creates and implements sales strategies and targets prospective customers for onboarding
  • Holds a reasonable number of major accounts, still allowing time for coaching, leading, and management of the team
  • Works with the team on the sales forecasts, reports, and updates required for Management/Trade meetings on a regular basis.
  • Does market research and competitive analysis to develop an in-depth understanding of key markets, focusing on trades, carriers, routes, sailings etc in order to have a robust market intelligence in place to contribute to timely and appropriate Trade/Commercial action plan as well as in the study, development of new products to expand the company's service offerings.
  • Takes customers' feedback to Management and Process Owners in the organization in order to assist in resolving issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business major in Marketing, Management, and other business-related course.
  • Preferably with at least 10 years of experience in sales, specifically within the International/Domestic Ocean Containerized Shipping, Freight Forwarding industries, with a focus on both Business Development and Account Management.
  • Good track record of driving customer success and growth and aligning within complex customer environments at executive and department levels.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and Filipino (written and verbal) required; other Asian languages are a plus
  • Well-organized and analytical with an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Domain knowledge of the customer experience and growth market, business and technical trends.
  • Willingness to travel within Philippines if needs arise.
  • Proficiency required in: Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools, LMS or similar shipping software
