Software Engineer - Java

About the role
As a Software Engineer - Java at NYGC Services, Inc.', you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java-based software applications. This is a full-time role based in Cebu City Cebu, where you will work as part of a dynamic and innovative team to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions.
What you'll be doing- Design and develop efficient, scalable, and maintainable Java applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Write clean, well-documented code and implement unit and integration tests
- Continuously improve the codebase by identifying and addressing technical debt
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Java development
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Proficiency in Java 8 or higher, and experience with popular Java frameworks and libraries (e.g. Spring, Hibernate, JUnit)
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies is preferred
