Job Overview:
The HR Assistant will provide administrative support to the HR department and assist in various human resources activities. This role involves handling a range of tasks that will contribute to the overall smooth operation of the HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Support:
- Assist with job postings and candidate sourcing.
- Coordinate interviews and assist in the hiring process.
- Maintain and update the recruitment database.
Employee Records Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Assist in the preparation of employment contracts and documentation.
Onboarding and Orientation:
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all paperwork and compliance requirements are met.
- Assist with conducting employee orientations to familiarize them with company policies and culture.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Assist in processing payroll information and benefits enrollment.
- Track employee attendance and leave requests.
- Help employees with inquiries about payroll and benefits.
Employee Relations:
- Provide general HR support to employees and managers.
- Assist in resolving employee queries and issues, maintaining a professional and supportive environment.
Compliance:
- Assist in ensuring HR policies are up to date with local and federal labor laws.
- Help with the preparation of reports for audits or compliance reviews.
General Administrative Support:
- Handle HR-related correspondence, filing, and documentation.
- Perform clerical duties, including answering phone calls and responding to emails.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of HR events, such as employee engagement activities and performance reviews.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative or HR support role is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HR processes and labor laws is desirable.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
