Product Development Specialist

Job Summary

The Product Development Specialist is responsible for supporting new product development initiatives while managing sourcing and procurement activities for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. This role works closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure products are developed, sourced, and launched efficiently while meeting quality, cost, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of new products based on market trends, consumer insights, and business requirements
• Conduct product research, competitor benchmarking, and market analysis to identify opportunities for innovation
• Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, and suppliers on product concepts, formulations, packaging, and launch requirements
• Evaluate product samples and support product testing, revisions, and approvals prior to launch
• Manage product documentation including specifications, formulations, packaging details, and technical records
• Stay updated on industry trends, ingredients, and innovations to support continuous product improvement

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products
• Request and compare quotations, negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and supplier terms
• Prepare and process purchase orders while monitoring delivery schedules and order fulfillment
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and address quality, delivery, or procurement-related concerns
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment requirements with relevant departments
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and applicable regulatory requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• At least 1–3 years of experience in Product Development, Purchasing, Procurement, or a related role
• Experience in cosmetics, skincare, personal care, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industries is an advantage
• Strong research, analytical, negotiation, and project coordination skills
• Familiarity with supplier management, sourcing, and purchasing processes
• Knowledge of FDA regulations, product registration, and labeling requirements is an advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
