The Head Cook is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and safety. This role combines hands-on cooking with leadership and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks

Plan and oversee food preparation and cooking processes

Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards

Develop or assist in menu planning and recipe standardization

Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed

Control food costs, minimize waste, and manage kitchen budget

Enforce food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards

Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff performance

Schedule staff shifts and ensures adequate kitchen coverage

Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment

Handle and resolve kitchen-related issues during service

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of cuisines with the ability to create innovative and visually appealing dishes
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire culinary professionals
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of food safety regulations, kitchen hygiene, and best practices
  • Passionate about culinary arts with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations including menu planning, costing, and inventory control
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen and service teams
