Job description:
Area of Assignment: Philippine Red Cross, Cebu Chapter
Purpose Statement:
Ensure the continuity, application and realization of the project at the geographical area of focus of the action and the local coordination. Considerable amount of trust and responsibility for the success of the Project, therefore, rest in his post.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Shall provide leadership and direction to ensure success of project implementation
- Be responsible in the chapter-level for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the actions in accordance with the project timeline and milestones, ensuring respect of the administrative and financial policies of the PRC and the donor agencies;
- Prepare reports on progress, administration, accounts and budgets as required by the Chapter, NHQs, and donor agencies, through the Chapter Administrator;
- Ensure that all the project team at chapter level under the project whether permanent or contractual in status, conduct their service and perform their duties in accordance with the standards laid down and expected by the PRC;
- Ensure that the project teams based at the Chapters are properly monitored;
- Provide direction and support necessary to the project team staff to allow them to carry out their tasks effectively and efficiently;
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of all data or information collected by the project;
- Perform as required or as delegated by the Chapter Administrator, as spokesperson for the project, and to ensure that the objectives and successes as well as weaknesses are properly recorded, documented and reported;
- Organize with the assistance of other team members and the Chapter as necessary, all meeting for both dissemination of information with all interested parties and project review meetings;
- Maintain a flexible approach to the activities of the project so that methods and systems may be developed in the course of the program so as to enhance the value of the work undertaken;
- Ensure that the NHQ Project Officer and Chapter Administrator through the CSR are fully informed of all views, information and all data collected from the communities;
- Ensure that all equipment used by himself/herself, or under his/her control, is properly used, maintained, and secured.
- Undertake and perform any other activities and tasks as required by the PRC, as directed by the Chapter Administrator and the NHQs through the DMS;
Job Specifications:
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be a graduate of any 4-year course but preferably in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field.
- Has at least two (2) years’ experience in the management and implementation of development programs.
- Experience working for an international non-profit organization and in back-donor funded project management and implementation will be an advantage.
- Possess skills in training, developing and managing staff.
- Experience in handling training and development of training curriculum and syllabus.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Proficient in basic computer software programs (e.g. word, excel, powerpoint, internet)
- Committed, results oriented, and have effective managerial skills.
