Field Sales Senior Executive – Freight Forwarding
About the role
The Field Sales Senior Executive / Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and promoting freight forwarding services, including air, sea, and cross-border logistics. The role requires regular field visits, strong customer engagement, and achieving individual sales targets.
Key Accountabilities- Identify and secure new clients for international freight forwarding services (import/export).
- Develop and expand business within existing accounts by cross-selling services (customs clearance, warehousing, transportation) , and conduct market research to identify opportunities in target industries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics decision-makers (importers/exporters, manufacturers, traders).
- Prepare and deliver customized proposals, quotations, and presentations to clients, and ensure high customer satisfaction through regular follow-ups and issue resolution.
- Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and attend client meetings, industry events, and trade exhibitions to generate leads.
- Liaise with operations, customer service, and pricing teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Provide timely feedback on customer requirements and service gaps and assist in the account onboarding and handover process.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in freight forwarding sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of international logistics, INCOTERMS, customs procedures, and trade regulations.
- Excellent communication skills
- An existing network of logistics clients (importers/exporters) is highly desirable.
- Must be willing to travel extensively for client meetings.
