Safety Manager (Safety SO3/4 with QS experience)
About the role
Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across our construction projects.As Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing comprehensive safety programmes that protect our workforce and maintain regulatory compliance. Your expertise in safety management combined with quantity surveying (QS) knowledge will be instrumental in delivering projects safely and efficiently whilst managing costs effectively.
Key responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive safety management plans and policies aligned with local Philippine regulations and international best practices
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks
- Provide safety induction and ongoing training to all site personnel, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Maintain detailed safety records, reports and documentation to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with project teams and quantity surveyors to integrate safety considerations into project planning and cost management
- Monitor and manage safety budgets, ensuring cost-effective implementation of safety measures without compromising standards
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns to foster a strong safety culture across all project sites
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients and external safety consultants to ensure project compliance and certification
- Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management and project stakeholders
- Safety Officer Level 3 or Level 4 (SO3/4) certification as recognised by Philippine regulatory authorities
- Proven experience in health, safety and environment management within the construction industry
- Substantial experience in quantity surveying or cost management, demonstrating the ability to integrate safety and financial considerations
- Strong knowledge of Philippine occupational safety and health regulations, Building Code and relevant construction standards
- Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, hazard identification and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safety culture at all organisational levels
- Proficiency in safety management systems, documentation and reporting tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, engineers and site supervisors
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to safety management
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to conduct frequent site visits
