JOB OVERVIEW:

The IT Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of the Power Business Unit’s computer systems and digital infrastructure. This position is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of technologies, including hardware, software, business applications, network infrastructure, and other digital platforms.
The role also entails full-cycle IT asset management—from purchase requisition and deployment to maintenance, inventory tracking, and disposal of both hardware and software. In addition to providing technical support and troubleshooting services, the IT Specialist collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to address various IT-related needs.

The position is also accountable for operational support in critical areas such as network security, helpdesk ticketing, data backup, documentation, user training, systems innovation, and administration, ensuring the organization's IT environment remains secure, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Network Infrastructure
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining network equipment such as firewall, routers, switches, DVR/NDR, storage systems, and network cabling
  • Upkeeping of the data center equipment including patch panels, consoles, and uninterrupted power system; and maintaining desirable room temperature, humidity, airflow and cleanliness.
  • Monitoring network performance, and identifying and resolving network and connectivity issues, to minimize downtime
  • Taking part on network design and implementation projects
  • Implementing network-level security policies and procedures
  1. Computer systems
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer Servers and Workstations, including hardware drivers and software operating systems.
  • Deploying updates, service packs, software patches, and security fixes
  • Implementing backup and recovery solutions to protect critical servers to ensure business continuity
  • Operating and maintaining virtualized windows environments
  • Performing preventive maintenance (PMS) activities
  1. System Administration and Support
  • Deploying, configuring, and administering Domain, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and other server-based roles and functions
  • Maintaining User accounts including account creation, deletion, and setting appropriate access rights and permissions
  • Ensuring proper license assignment, deployment, and compliance to EULA
  • Implementing domain group policy and other system administration tasks
  • Implementing and using an IT Ticketing system
  1. Endpoint Protection and Cyber Security
  • Installing, administering, and maintaining security solutions
  • Taking part in developing, implementing, and managing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) program
  • Taking part in reviewing and improving security policies and procedures
  • Monitoring security-related activities and responding to security incidents and breaches
  • Taking part in security audits, VAPT, threat exposure assessment, and other relevant security-
  • Conducting security awareness activities including information campaign, security alert advisories, and security talks
  1. Business Applications and Productivity Software
  • Understanding the functionalities of PBU core business applications, and performing technical admin tasks
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues on software applications, providing end-user support, and documenting solutions
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining software applications, and ensuring they are aligned with PBU needs
  • Creating and delivering user training materials, guides, and documentation to improve user adoption.
  • Performing administrative role in Office365 ecosystem
  • Working with the IT team, end-users, vendors, and project group, to understand requirements, address issues, and facilitate implementation of new systems.
  1. Process Improvement and Innovation
  • Analyzing current procedures and workflows, and proposing process improvements that will improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborating with different departments and teams in proposing appropriate digital solutions to address their operational requirement or improvement projects
  • Assisting in the implementation of approved process improvement projects or innovations
  • Documenting processes, procedures, and changes to ensure clarity and maintain a knowledgebase for reference
  • Provide training and support on new systems
  1. Asset Management
  • Performing asset management tasks from requisition, specs review and recommendation, installation and configuration, deployment, maintenance, and disposal
  • Implementing asset tracking to ensure information on location, status, and assignment of assets is accurate and available at all times.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory record of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and cloud subscriptions
  • Ensuring all IT asset issuances are covered with signed property receipts, all new laptops are covered with property floater insurance, and returned assets are properly acknowledged and recorded
  • Ensuring all IT assets are used in accordance with PBU policies and legal requirements, including software licensing and data security
  • Implementing and using an IT asset management system
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • System Performance:
  • Uptime of 98% or greater; first-level issue acknowledgment within 15 minutes; standard issue resolution within 4 hours.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • 100% adherence to security policies and regulatory standards; regular user access audit with zero critical findings.
  • Project Management:
  • 95%+ on-time project delivery; project milestone tracking within budget limits; critical project risks resolved within 24 hours.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Measurable efficiency gains (targeting 10–15% improvement); 100% traceability of documented business requirements.
  • Data Management:
  • Data accuracy of 98%+; 100% on-time delivery of scheduled reports.
  • Training & Support:
  • 100% training completion for targeted user groups; user satisfaction ratings of 90%+ on support and training feedback.

QUALIFICATION GUIDE:

EDUCATION :

Holds a bachelor’s degree preferably in any Computer related field

EXPERIENCE :

  • At least 3 years of experience in administering Network/Systems/Database Applications, system implementation, process improvement and database backup.
  • Experience in ERP and CMMS (e.g. SAP) an advantage
  • PREFERRED Experience in basic programing or development a plus.
  • With experience in IT Support Ticketing System, Asset Inventory System, and asset management
