The Call Center Patient Billing Support Specialist handles inbound and outbound patient communications and associated related to patient billing inquiries. This role involves resolving billing issues, answering patient questions regarding their accounts, explaining insurance coverages, and providing information on payment options.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn healthcare billing and insurance

processes.
  • Serve as first point of contact to support Patients Interactions
  • Answering incoming calls regarding billing inquiries, payment issues, and account status
  • Handle outbound calls as needed to resolve account issues or collect payments.
  • Provide clear explanations of charges, payment plans, and balances.
  • Interact directly with internal and external customers via telephone (inbound & outbound) and electronic channels (e.g., email, SMS, live chat)
  • Direct or escalate requests and unresolvable issues as needed.
Billing & Account Resolution
  • Investigate and resolve billing concerns and disputes, ensuring timely and accurate account resolution.
  • Assist callers with understanding the Explanation of
  • Benefits (EOBs) and the breakdown of medical bills.
  • Research account history, insurance payments, and outstanding balances.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries.
Payment Processing
  • Process payments over the phone or guide callers on portal utilization.
  • Set up payment plans where appropriate.
  • Provide information on financial assistance programs and eligibility requirements.
Insurance & Claims
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and clarify discrepancies between insurance payments and patient bills.
  • Work with insurance providers to ensure correct processing of claims and follow up on outstanding claims.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Accurately record all interactions and actions taken in the appropriate systems.
  • Updated patient accounts and maintained comprehensive notes in customer management
  • software.
Compliance & Privacy
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. billing practices, data security, and financial regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with obligations per the Client's
  • Ensure all records and documents are maintained as per organizational requirements.
  • Comply with all data protection and privacy laws, rules, obligations under the Agreement and/or a SOW, including without limitation HIPAA.
Continued Learning
  • Maintain status on Cognizant and Natera training requirements as applicable to self.
Who Thrives Here?
  • High School diploma or equivalent required or Associate's degree in healthcare administration, business or related field is a plus
  • Multi-lingual skills are a strong plus (Spanish)
  • With at least 1 year SME experience in Healthcare Account
  • The candidate must have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex billing issues in simple terms to patients
  • Must be willing to work in a hybrid setup in Taguig City
  • Willing to work on shifting schedule
