The Lead Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all plant facilities, utilities, and infrastructure within the manufacturing site. This role ensures that facilities systems support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production operations while complying with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Utilities Management
  • Lead and manage maintenance of manufacturing facilities, including:
  • Buildings and structural systems
  • Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Compressed air, steam, water, and wastewater systems
  • Ensure reliability and availability of utilities critical to production operations
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Engineering Leadership & Supervision
  • Supervise facilities engineers, technicians, and contractors
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and engineering records
Compliance, Safety & Environmental Management
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations
  • Environmental laws and permits
  • Fire safety and building codes
  • Support safety initiatives and hazard control measures within facilities
  • Participate in audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective actions
Project Management & Improvement
  • Lead facilities-related capital projects, renovations, and expansions
  • Prepare project scope, cost estimates, timelines, and technical evaluations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
  • Energy efficiency
  • Cost reduction
  • Equipment reliability
  • Sustainability
Asset & Contractor Management
  • Manage facilities assets, spare parts, and maintenance contracts
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers, vendors, and consultants
  • Evaluate contractor performance and ensure work quality and safety compliance
Budgeting & Reporting
  • Prepare and manage facilities maintenance and capital expenditure budgets
  • Monitor expenses and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Prepare regular reports on facilities performance, KPIs, and issues

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or related field
License / Certification (Preferred)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PRC) is an advantage
  • Training in facilities management, utilities operations, or energy management
Experience
  • Minimum 5–7 years of facilities engineering experience
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial plant facilities is required

  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing / industrial plant environment
  • May require on-call availability for plant emergencies
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work for maintenance shutdowns or projects
