Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator with a background in electrical engineering to support project forecasting, bidding, and budgeting for infrastructure and utility-based electrical projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in power distribution, utility, or infrastructure-related projects, and possess strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project for cost modeling and schedule planning.

This role is critical in turning early-stage designs into accurate and scalable cost forecasts and supporting the project lifecycle from pre-construction through execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed and accurate electrical estimates based on preliminary and final designs, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Prepare cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other related expenses.
  • Forecast project budgets and cash flows using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Analyze and interpret design documents and electrical schematics to extract quantity take-offs and identify scope items.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and procurement teams to ensure alignment of estimates with actual execution strategies.
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes and incorporate into overall project estimates.
  • Maintain and update estimating tools, templates, and historical cost databases.
  • Assist in value engineering, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Support bid preparation and proposal development efforts with cost and schedule inputs.
  • Participate in risk assessments and contingency planning based on project complexities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within power distribution, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, cost modeling) and Microsoft Project (scheduling, resource loading).
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs, and project documents.
  • Experience working with design teams, EPC contractors, or field teams is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
