This job description outlined the roles and responsibilities for the position of CHIEF Electrical and Mechanical Manager (Chief E&M Manager)
Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of electromechanical (E&M)
projects, ensuring they meet specifications, deadlines, and budget constraints.
Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to align E&M project
goals with overall project objectives.
Review and approve designs for electrical and mechanical systems, including
HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical installations. Ensure that all
designs comply with local regulations, standards, and best practices.
Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on electromechanical
systems, ensuring the application of engineering principles and best practices.
Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, materials, and methods for E&M
installations.
Develop and implement quality assurance procedures to monitor and assess
E&M work on construction sites. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure
compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Prepare and manage budgets for E&M projects, including cost estimation,tracking, and reporting. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining
quality and compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate the procurement of E&M materials, equipment, and services,ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project schedules. Establish and
maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors for E&M works.
Ensure that all E&M works comply with local, national, and international codes
and standards. Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory
approvals and inspections.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards specific
to electromechanical installations on construction sites. Promote a safety
culture among project teams and conduct safety training for workers involved
in E&M activities.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or arelated field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license or similar certification is preferred.
10 years of experience in electromechanical project management or
engineering roles, particularly in the construction industry
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
Certifications in specific E&M areas (e.g., HVAC, electrical systems) are a plus.
Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, including
scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Familiarity with engineering design standards and local building codes related
to E&M installations.
Knowledge of quality control and assurance procedures relevant to
electromechanical works.
Oversee the coordination and integration of electrical and mechanical systems
within construction projects to ensure seamless operation.
Understanding of health and safety laws and regulations applicable to
construction sites.
Skills in estimating project costs, managing budgets, and analyzing financialdata related to E&M projects.
