BUILDING ENGINEER (REGISTERED MECHANICAL ENGINEER)
About the role
Polystar General Services Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer (Registered Mechanical Engineer) to join our dynamic team in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, safety and compliance of our building systems and infrastructure.As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems of our facilities, whilst maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering superior building services and maintaining a safe, comfortable and efficient environment for all occupants.
Key responsibilities- Inspect, test, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Oversee the operation and performance of HVAC systems, boilers, generators, pumps and other critical mechanical equipment
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance schedules and emergency repairs to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Manage energy efficiency initiatives and optimise building systems to reduce operational costs and environmental impact
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of maintenance activities, inspections and system performance
- Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment failures in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors and service providers to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications
- Monitor and maintain building safety systems, including fire suppression, emergency lighting and security systems
- Supervise and train maintenance staff and technicians on proper equipment operation and safety protocols
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, environmental regulations and company policies
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) certification is mandatory
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in building services engineering or facility management
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems and building infrastructure
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and building system schematics
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards and compliance requirements in the Philippines
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with teams and stakeholders
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
