Job Description:
The QA/QC Inspector - Civil/Mechanical is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of civil and mechanical works for the Water Project. This role is crucial in upholding Bureau Veritas' reputation for excellence in quality assurance and control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and monitor civil and mechanical construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and relevant standards and codes.
- Conduct regular on-site inspections and document findings, including any non-conformities or deviations from requirements.
- Review and verify construction materials, equipment, and installations to ensure they meet the specified quality and performance criteria.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and checklists.
- Participate in the review and approval of submittals, shop drawings, and method statements related to civil and mechanical works.
- Identify and recommend corrective actions to address any quality issues or deficiencies, and follow up on their implementation.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all quality-related activities, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance logs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team to ensure the project meets the required quality standards.
- Coordinate with the client, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of quality-related matters.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality management processes and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a QA/QC Inspector or in a similar role, preferably in the water infrastructure or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of civil and mechanical engineering principles, construction methods, and quality control practices.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and relevant standards and codes.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.
- Familiarity with Bureau Veritas' quality management systems and procedures would be an advantage.
