A Planning Manager is responsible for making sure a company has the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time—while keeping costs and inventory under control. The role sits at the center of operations, connecting demand forecasts, production, procurement, and distribution.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage supply plans based on demand forecasts
- Ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory
- Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams
- Monitor inventory levels and set stock targets
- Lead or support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes
- Adjust plans in response to demand changes or supply disruptions
- Identify risks and create contingency plans
- Improve planning processes and systems
- Analyze data to support planning decisions

- Generate reports and provide insights to management
- Degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field
- Experience in supply chain / production / inventory planning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Excel
- Good communication and organizational skills
