About the role
We are seeking talented Lawyers with expertise in finance, economics, or public policy to join the Senate of the Philippines in a full-time capacity, based in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to legislative affairs and policy development at the highest level of government.In this role, you will provide specialised legal counsel that combines your understanding of finance, economics, or public policy with legal expertise to support Senate operations and inform legislative processes. Your work will have significant impact on national policy and governance.
Key responsibilities- Providing expert legal analysis and counsel on legislative matters relating to finance, economics, or public policy
- Drafting legislative proposals, amendments, and supporting documentation for Senate consideration
- Conducting thorough research on complex legal, financial, and policy issues to support Senate deliberations
- Advising Senate members and committees on the legal implications of proposed policies and regulations
- Collaborating with government agencies, stakeholders, and external experts to gather information and insights for legislative development
- Preparing briefing materials, position papers, and policy recommendations for Senate committees
- Reviewing and analysing existing legislation to identify areas for reform or modernisation
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of enacted legislation within your area of expertise
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Senate protocols and procedures
- A law degree (Juris Doctor or equivalent) from a recognised institution
- Active membership in the Philippine Bar Association
- Advanced qualification or substantial professional experience in finance, economics, or public policy
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear legal and policy recommendations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino
- Demonstrated experience in legislative drafting or policy development
- Knowledge of Philippine constitutional law, administrative law, and the legislative process
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Professional integrity and discretion in handling sensitive government matters
- Experience working in government, law firms, think tanks, or policy institutions is highly valued
