About the Role

Anytime Fitness is seeking an experienced and passionate Fitness Training Manager to lead Learning & Development initiatives across our fitness network. This role is dedicated to developing the capabilities of our fitness teams—from newly hired Personal Trainers and Brand Ambassadors to Fitness Managers—through structured education, coaching, and performance development programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering training frameworks that elevate technical expertise, commercial performance, customer experience, and group training excellence across multiple clubs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sales & Business Training

Develop and implement sales training programs that equip Personal Trainers and Brand Ambassadors with the skills and confidence to generate results from day one.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Personal Trainer sales onboarding and sales playbook development
  • Brand Ambassador handover and warm-introduction techniques
  • Sales process training and conversion strategies
  • KPI management, productivity coaching, and performance tracking
  • Commercial development programs that drive business growth
  1. Technical Training & Development

Ensure all fitness professionals are trained to brand standards while creating sustainable internal training systems across the network.

Key Focus Areas:

  • New Personal Trainer onboarding and certification pathways
  • Technical skills development and coaching excellence
  • Train-the-Trainer programs for Fitness Managers
  • Quality assurance and fitness standards implementation
  • Ongoing education and professional development initiatives
  1. Customer Service & Retention

Develop coaches who create meaningful member relationships and deliver exceptional service experiences that improve retention and engagement.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Emotional intelligence and communication training
  • Member journey and engagement standards
  • Coaching and relationship-building frameworks
  • Objection handling and membership renewal conversations
  • Customer retention and service excellence strategies
  1. Small Group Training & Group Exercise Optimisation

Lead the development and enhancement of group training experiences across the network.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Group Exercise (GX) standards and schedule optimisation
  • Small Group Training program development
  • Instructor upskilling and coaching
  • Signature program creation and rollout
  • Network-wide implementation and quality control

Qualifications & Experience

Required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the fitness industry.
  • At least 3 years in a senior Learning & Development, Education, Master Trainer, or Training Management role within a multi-site environment.
  • Recognised Personal Training certification
  • Additional qualifications in Group Exercise, Small Group Training, or related disciplines are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience delivering successful Train-the-Trainer programs.
  • Strong understanding of fitness business operations, sales processes, KPIs, and productivity management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build club-level trainers and Fitness Managers into effective educators and leaders.
