Job Description Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility The Commis Chef assists in the kitchen and contributes to the overall success of outlets and events, in accordance with the hotel’s standards and financial goals.
This position supports the smooth delivery of food service while ensuring quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. An ideal candidate should have prior experience in a professional kitchen environment, with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and sanitation standards.Strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to teamwork are essential.
Flexibility to work across different kitchen sections and a proactive approach to learning and supporting colleagues are highly valued. The Commis Chef is expected to provide courteous and professional service at all times, handling guest and associate inquiries efficiently while maintaining positive interactions with colleagues.The role supports daily kitchen operations by implementing company brand standards, working closely with other associates in a collaborative manner, and focusing on guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities include preparing and processing ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, meats, poultry, and seafood; assisting with tasks such as breading, stirring, straining, weighing, and measuring ingredients; and ensuring proper storage of food items.The position also involves maintaining cleanliness in work areas, equipment, and utensils, segregating and removing garbage, and distributing supplies and portable equipment. Additional duties include carving cooked meats, assisting with quality control, and setting up buffet presentations.
