Technical Engineer (RE)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Technical Engineer will work closely with the Technical Manager, project teams, EPC contractors, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders to help deliver high-quality and compliant renewable energy projects (e.g. Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage System (ESS) any other forms of RE projects as needed/explored by the Management) from feasibility through commissioning and handover.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the technical development of renewable projects from feasibility assessment to commissioning and final handover.
• Assist in reviewing engineering designs, technical plans/drawings, technical proposals, system specifications and other technical/engineering/project management documents to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with Solana’s and industry standards.
• Help ensure compliance with Philippine Electrical Codes (PEC), Philippine Grid Code (PGC), utility interconnection requirements (Distribution Code), environmental regulations, company safety standards and other related power industry rules and standards (e.g. OATS Rule, WESM Rules, EPIRA, Anti-Pilferage, Anti Obstruction etc.).
• Participate in site assessments, technical due diligence, system performance analysis, and design optimization activities.
• Coordinate technical requirements with EPC contractors, consultants, and internal departments to support efficient project execution.
• Assist in the preparation and review of technical reports, documentation, and turnover packages.
• Provide technical inputs to support permitting, licensing, and regulatory submissions.
• Monitor technical progress during design and construction phases and escalate potential risks or issues to senior technical leadership.
• Support the review of technical scopes within contracts and agreements to ensure alignment with project objectives and company requirements.
• Represent the technical team in coordination meetings when required.
• All other assignments that the management or supervisor/manager assigned from time to time as needed/required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) is an advantage.
3. 0–3 years of relevant experience in RE projects, power generation, or related engineering field.
4. Working knowledge of RE projects, basic electrical design principles, and industry standards.
5. Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Project, or similar engineering software is an advantage.
6. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
7. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
