Civil Planning Engineer
Job Roles and Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Civil/Structural Engineer focuses on the physical integrity of the site. This role ensures that towers, rooftops, and equipment pads are structurally sound and have the space/strength to accommodate new or re-allocated hardware.
Key Responsibilities- Structural Technical Approval (FACI-STRUC): Review and sign off on CAFs and TSSRs to ensure that new equipment installations do not exceed the structural wind load or weight capacity of the tower/building.
- Site Configuration Review: Analyze the "Conso Tracker" to compare current configurations against planned equipment; identify potential structural constraints or dismantled equipment requirements.
- Materials & Logistics Audit: Audit the pull-out and re-allocation of structural OSI materials (mounts, poles, platforms) to ensure project resource efficiency.
- Deployment Governance: Participate in the Cluster Go/No-Go Decision by verifying that all civil and structural preparations meet safety and engineering standards.
- Field Quality Control: Monitor the installation and delivery of structural elements to ensure compliance with the approved TSSR.
- Expertise in Structural Analysis for telecommunication towers or rooftop sites.
- Ability to interpret civil engineering drawings and site layout plans.
- Strong attention to detail regarding asset tracking and inventory (OSI) management.
- Educational Background
Professional Licensure (e.g., Licensed Civil Engineer) is strictly required for signing off on structural technical approvals.
- Professional Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in structural analysis, specifically within the telecommunications industry (Towers, Monopoles, and Rooftop sites).
Proven track record in Technical Approval (FACI-STRUC) roles, including the review of TSSRs and CAFs.Experience in Asset Management or logistics auditing for structural materials (OSI).
- Technical Skills & Competencies
- Engineering Documentation: Expertise in interpreting civil/structural blueprints, Site Layout Plans (SLP), and tower profiles.
Inventory & Logistics: Skilled in managing Owner Supplied Inventory (OSI), specifically structural mounts, poles, and platforms, including the "pull-out" and re-allocation process.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., staad.pro , MS Tower, or RISA-3D) and ServiceNow for project tracking.Quality Governance: Experience in field quality control and conducting audits to ensure installations match the approved engineering designs.
- Soft Skills
Rigorous Attention to Detail: Essential for identifying discrepancies in the "Conso Tracker" and equipment configurations.
Decisiveness: Ability to provide firm Go/No-Go decisions during cluster deployment phases based on safety and engineering standards.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work with Transport and Power engineers to ensure holistic site readiness.
