Project Manager – Dental Billing Operations

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager with a strong background in dental billing to lead and oversee projects related to our revenue cycle and billing operations. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of hands-on experience in dental billing and a proven track record of managing cross-functional projects that improve efficiency, compliance, and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end projects related to dental billing operations, including system implementations, process improvements, and client onboarding.
  • Supervise a team of billing specialists and coordinate with dental offices to ensure accurate and timely claims processing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, compliance) to streamline billing workflows.
  • Monitor project progress, create reports, and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental billing procedures, coding standards, payer requirements, and compliance regulations (including HIPAA).
  • Identify and resolve billing-related challenges and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Oversee training and onboarding of new billing staff as needed.
  • Act as the point of contact between clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in dental billing and revenue cycle management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a project management or team leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of dental insurance verification, claims submission, appeals, and payment posting.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, OpenDental, or similar).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or MS Project).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred but not required Qualifications:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based dental practices.
  • Background in training, auditing, or compliance within the dental billing field.
