The Project Engineer will support the planning, implementation, deployment, testing, and turnover of communication and network infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a mid-level technical professional with experience in VoIP, Unified Communications, data networking, structured cabling, or related IT infrastructure projects.

The role will work closely with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered properly, on time, and according to technical requirements. The Project Engineer will also provide technical support during and after project implementation, helping ensure reliable and high-quality communication solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

Project Implementation and Deployment
  • Assist in the implementation and deployment of Voice, VoIP, Unified Communications, network infrastructure, and structured cabling projects.
  • Conduct site surveys, technical assessments, and requirements gathering with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of technical designs, network diagrams, implementation plans, project schedules, and deployment documentation.
  • Install, configure, test, and support voice and network equipment such as IP phones, PBX systems, routers, switches, firewalls, SIP trunks, and related communication platforms.
  • Support the integration of voice systems, UC platforms, endpoints, network devices, and structured cabling infrastructure.
  • Ensure that project implementation follows approved scope, technical standards, and client requirements.
Project Coordination and Delivery
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams during project implementation.
  • Monitor assigned project activities and provide updates on progress, risks, issues, and required actions.
  • Assist in resolving project concerns to prevent delays or service interruptions.
  • Support project scheduling, manpower coordination, equipment readiness, and site implementation activities.
  • Help ensure that projects are completed according to timeline, quality expectations, and customer requirements.
Testing, Troubleshooting and Support
  • Perform testing, validation, commissioning, and user acceptance support before project turnover.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to VoIP, network connectivity, call quality, device configuration, cabling, and system performance.
  • Validate system functionality, connectivity, security, call flow, and overall reliability before handover.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to clients during implementation and post-deployment activities.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when needed and coordinate with the appropriate internal or external teams.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation such as as-built drawings, network diagrams, configuration records, completion reports, testing results, and turnover documents.
  • Document project activities, issues encountered, resolutions, and client approvals.
  • Assist in preparing reports and updates for project stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper knowledge transfer and documentation turnover after project completion.
Customer and Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain professional and customer-focused communication with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Join client meetings, technical discussions, project updates, and coordination activities.
  • Explain technical matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Travel to client sites as needed for surveys, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project engineering, network implementation, VoIP deployment, technical support, or related IT infrastructure roles.
  • Experience in VoIP, Unified Communications, data networking, structured cabling, or infrastructure implementation is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with voice and networking equipment such as IP phones, PBX systems, routers, switches, firewalls, SIP trunks, or similar technologies.
  • Exposure to brands such as Alcatel-Lucent, Yeastar, Yealink, Ribbon, Zyxel, or similar platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation, network diagrams, project reports, and implementation plans.
  • Knowledge of tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, Power BI, Google Looker Studio, or similar reporting/design tools is an advantage.
  • Professional license is an advantage but not required.
  • Willing to travel to client sites for project implementation and support activities.
