Job Description:
The Purchasing, Pricing & Data Analyst provides data-driven insight across inventory, pricing, purchasing, and sales performance. This role serves as a central analytical resource, helping the business make informed decisions through forecasting, reporting, and operational analysis.
- Inventory & Demand Analysis
- Analyze sales velocity, product movement, and historical demand trends
- Recommend reorder quantities and optimal purchasing timing
- Maintain and refine Min/Max inventory levels and reorder points
- Identify overstock situations, slow-moving products, and stockout risks
- ETA Prediction & Order Visibility
- Assign and maintain expected arrival dates (ETAs) for all purchase orders
- Analyze vendor lead times, production schedules, and shipping durations
- Continuously improve ETA forecasting accuracy using planned vs actual performance data
- Update systems to support accurate customer communication and order visibility
- Pricing Analysis
- Monitor competitor pricing where available
- Analyze quote pricing performance and final sales outcomes
- Support quarterly pricing reviews, including margin analysis and market positioning
- Identify underpriced products with margin opportunity and overpriced products with potential sales risk
- Quote Win/Loss Analysis
- Track quote activity, including value, products, customers, and outcomes
- Analyze win rates by product category and identify pricing sensitivity trends
- Identify key drivers behind successful and unsuccessful quotes
- Purchasing Support
- Assist with purchase order creation during high-volume periods
- Help prevent backlog accumulation within purchasing operations
- Provide analytical support for purchasing and inventory decisions
- Reporting & Business Insights
- Prepare weekly inventory and purchasing performance reports
- Generate monthly pricing and quote win/loss analysis reports
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to Kevin and the leadership team
- Improvement in inventory turns
- Forecast accuracy and ETA reliability
- Implementation of margin improvement insights
- Completeness and accuracy of quote win/loss data
Qualifications and requirements:
- Advanced Excel and data management capabilities
- Highly structured and detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to translate data into actionable business insights
Non-negotiable skills and requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English is required, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, customers, and internal leadership teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
