About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to lead a team of analysts delivering high‑quality operational reporting and analytics for Rx Clinical Operations. This role combines hands‑on analytics oversight, people leadership, and stakeholder partnership, ensuring analytics outputs directly support business performance, efficiency, and cost‑benefit outcomes.

As a senior leader, you will play a key role in Optum’s Rx Clinical Operations Globalization Strategy for 2026, helping scale offshore analytics delivery while maintaining strong governance, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

People & Delivery Leadership
  • Lead and manage a team of Business / Data Analysts, including work allocation, coaching, performance management, and career development
  • Drive team productivity, utilization, and adherence to delivery and quality standards
  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery risks, capacity challenges, and quality issues
  • Conduct regular alignment discussions with stakeholders to ensure priorities and expectations are met
Reporting & Analytics Oversight
  • Oversee delivery of ad hoc and recurring operational reports using Excel and Power BI
  • Review and approve all reporting outputs to ensure 100% accuracy and on‑time delivery
  • Ensure effective monitoring of key operational metrics and proactive identification of trends and anomalies
Stakeholder & Business Partnership
  • Partner with clinical program owners, operations leaders, and enterprise analytics teams to prioritize work
  • Translate strategic and operational requirements into clear, executable work plans for the analytics team
  • Represent the analytics function in operational reviews, leadership forums, and governance discussions
Data Governance, Quality & Compliance
  • Enforce data governance standards, SOP compliance, and consistent documentation practices
  • Ensure proper access controls and secure handling of sensitive data (PHI / PII)
  • Promote audit‑ready documentation and strong knowledge‑transfer practices across the team
Process Improvement & Global Delivery Enablement
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline reporting, reduce manual effort, and increase efficiency
  • Support offshore delivery maturity and long‑term sustainability as part of the 2026 globalization roadmap
  • Identify and escalate risks related to staffing gaps and delivery impacts on cost and performance outcomes

Required Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3–6 years of experience in business analytics, data analytics, or operations analytics
  • Prior experience leading analysts or small analytics teams (direct or matrixed leadership)
  • People Management Experience
  • Can start First Week of June
Technical Expertise
  • Advanced Excel: complex formulas, macros, data validation
  • SQL & Azure Databricks: strong working knowledge for review and oversight
  • Power BI: standardized dashboards and data visualization
  • Data Integration: Power Query and SQL‑based multi‑source data consolidation

Note: Hands‑on coding is not required daily, but technical depth is necessary for review, guidance, and quality assurance.
