Job Description

• Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines to perform machining operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and work instructions.
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on workpieces.
• Perform turning, threading, boring, drilling, facing, knurling, and other machining processes.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feeds based on material specifications.
• Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Ensure machined parts meet required tolerances, dimensions, and quality standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure equipment reliability.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records as required.
• Assist in repairing, rebuilding, and fabricating machine parts, shafts, bushings, and other mechanical components.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and quality inspectors regarding production requirements.
• Perform other related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Vocational Diploma, Technical Course, or College Level in Machining Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field.
• At least 1–3 years of experience as a Lathe Machinist or in a similar machining role.
• Knowledge of conventional and/or CNC lathe machine operations.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and able to work in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
