- At least 3 years of experience in medical billing and collections
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Familiarity with medical and insurance claim terminology
- Experience with medical billing software and EHR systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Degree in a medical or related field is preferred
- Certification in medical billing and collection is an advantage
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid is a plus
- Perform EOB scanning and daily claims data entry for office visits and injections
- Review billing data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
- Accurately enter and validate patient billing information
- Track and monitor insurance claims for timely reimbursement
- Check claim status and confirm acceptance via payer portals
- Conduct follow-ups with payers until payment is secured
- Analyze payer denials and prepare appeals based on guidelines
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues and improve processes
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA
- Provide customer support for billing-related inquiries
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations and billing codes
- Participate in required meetings and team activities
