What is the job?

The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible in managing end-to-end billing and claims follow-up for behavioral health services.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and submit accurate behavioral health insurance claims.
2. Perform AR follow-ups to ensure timely reimbursement.
3. Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims, including appeals.
4. Manage AR aging to improve cash flow.
5. Verify insurance eligibility and ensure payer compliance.
6. Document activities and collaborate with teams to resolve billing issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical billing with exposure to behavioral health and claims follow-up.
• Experience in behavioral health billing with strong focus on claims follow-up.
• Demonstrates strong understanding of revenue cycle processes, including claim submission and denial management.
