An IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving an organization’s computer systems, networks, and technology infrastructure. The role ensures smooth daily operations, system security, and efficient technical support for users.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and networks
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues
- Provide technical support to employees (onsite or remote)
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Ensure data security, backups, and system integrity
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades
- Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and incidents
- Assist in implementing new technologies and IT solutions
- Coordinate with vendors or service providers when necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of:
- Operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP)
- Hardware troubleshooting
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and data protection
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Good communication skills for technical and non-technical users
- Ability to work independently and in a team
