About the role
We are looking for an experienced Application Developer zOS - COBOL to join our dynamic team at ARTECH TECHNOLOGY INC'. This is a contract role based in Quezon City Metro Manila, providing an excellent opportunity to work on complex and cutting-edge projects in the Information & Communication Technology industry.
Must Have Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, VSAM, Easytrieve
- Proficiency with mainframe utilities like SORT, ICETOOL, IDCAMS, etc.
- Good understanding of CICS and online transaction processing
- Solid knowledge in analyzing job abends, using logs (SYSOUT, SPOOL, JESMSGLG, etc.), and identifying root causes
- Ability to perform impact analysis and implement quick fixes or workarounds
- Experience working with job schedulers (CA7, Control-M, etc.)
- Familiarity with JCL and batch processing flows
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a global team environment
- Willingness to work in shifts or provide on-call support if required
