The Finance and Importation Manager, will oversee the financial activities related to importation and procurement, ensuring efficient management of financial resources and compliance with import regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage financial models for forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (income statements, balance sheet, cash flow statements) to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and achieve organizational goals.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial investment to optimize cash management strategies.
- Manage banking relationship and negotiate financing terms with banks or financial institution.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Maintains records for accounting purposes in accordance with company procedures, including the checking of all invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and Customs regulations.
- Design all SOPs for the department, ensure compliance and prepare reports to be submitted to government agencies.
- Prepares reports on the performance of your department and suggest improvements that will enhance the company’s profit margins, as well as work closely with other senior department heads for the benefit of the company.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage audits, both internal and external, ensuring compliance and addressing audit findings.
- Importation Management:
- Oversee the importation of fertilizer products, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Handle all import documentation and customs clearance processes.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and standards.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers and logistics providers and always secure favorable tariffs for the company.
- Monitor and manage import-related costs and tariffs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with international suppliers.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the General Manager and executive team.
- Lead and mentor the finance and importation team.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to long-term business planning.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new financial systems and processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure that all financial and importation activities align with the company's sustainability and corporate social responsibility goals.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows as needed.
- Provide training and support to other team members on financial and importation procedures.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the management from time to time.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and importation management, preferably in the agricultural or fertilizer industry.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and import/export documentation.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
