Materials Procurement Specialist (SOURCING SPECIALIST LEAD)
Job Description
Job Functions:
Lead sourcing efforts for primary and secondary packaging materials (e.g. bottles, jars, caps, tubes, labels, cartons).
Identify, evaluate and quality local and international packaging suppliers.
Manage RFQs, negotiations and contract agreements to ensure cost competitiveness and supplier reliability.
Analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and supply risks; recommend sourcing strategies accordingly.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key packaging suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness).
Collaborate with suppliers on innovation, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Work closely with Packaging Development, R&D, QA and Production teams to understand packaging requirements.
Support new product development and launches by ensuring packaging availability and readiness.
Coordinate with Finance and Supply Chain for budget alignment, lead time planning and inventory control.
Ensure packaging materials comply with local (Philippine FDA) and international regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, price databases, supplier records and packaging specifications.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Technology, Business Administration or related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably in the cosmetics, personal care or FMCG industry.
Deep knowledge in packaging materials (plastic, glass, laminates etc.) and manufacturing processes.
Strong negotiation, vendor management and contract management skills.
Familiar with GMP, ISO and packaging related regulatory requirements.
Familiar with FDA regulations and ASEAN cosmetic directive (ACD) compliance.
Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.
